National Apprenticeship Week 2019 Summary

By Appris Management Limited
schedule15th Mar 19

Planning for National Apprenticeship Week is challenging and complex. With schools, employers and wider stakeholders asking Appris to attend their events as well as arranging our own Open Evening.

The week started with us eagerly awaiting delivery of our new prospectus, which arrived in time for the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair at the Leeds First Direct Arena.

Despite the wind and rain, just under 6000 people passed through the doors.  Slightly lower than last year, however a steady flow throughout the evening allowed people to have longer and more meaningful conversations with Appris staff.

On Tuesday, Dean Coleman-Walker attended Belle Vue Girl’s School in Bradford.  There were lots of students with strong maths and science related qualifications that were interested in engineering and manufacturing apprenticeships.

Thursday morning, Appris was represented at Co-Op Priesthorpe Academy in Pudsey by Christian Blyth of Sulzer Pumps, promoting both their apprenticeship vacancies and Appris’.

Later that day, Appris opened its doors to over 100 young people, all taking time to speak to staff about apprenticeship vacancies, touring the Training Centre, viewing demonstrations and speaking to employers directly, who showcased their businesses.
